This experiment demonstrates how high voltage can be generated using simple electronic components like a step-up module or transformer.

Components Required

  • DC Power Supply (6V–12V)

  • Step-Up Transformer / High Voltage Module

  • Transistor (e.g., 2N2222 or similar)

  • Resistors

  • Capacitor

  • Wires

  • Insulated Base (wood/plastic)

How It Works

The circuit increases low DC voltage into high voltage using a transformer or oscillator circuit. The output voltage is high, but current is kept low for safety.

1. Spark Gap Test

  • Create a small gap between two wires

  • Observe a tiny spark when high voltage is applied

2. Neon Bulb Glow

  • Bring a neon bulb near high-voltage output
