DIY Rechargeable Continuity Tester – Handy Electronics Tool

A rechargeable continuity tester is a useful tool for checking wires, circuits, and connections. Unlike a basic tester, this version uses a rechargeable battery, making it portable and long-lasting.

Materials Needed

  • Small buzzer or LED

  • 3V–5V rechargeable battery (18650 or Li-ion)

  • Charging module (TP4056)

  • Switch

  • Resistor (if using LED)

  • Wires & soldering tools

  • Small plastic box

How to Make the Continuity Tester

  1. Prepare the Box
Use a small plastic box to hold all parts.

  2. Install Buzzer / LED
This will give sound or light when continuity is detected.

  3. Connect Battery
Wire the rechargeable battery to the circuit.

  4. Add Switch
Use it to power ON/OFF the tester.

  5. Add Probe Wires
Attach two long wires as test probes.

  6. Test It
When the probes touch a closed circuit, the buzzer beeps or LED lights.

Why This Project Is Useful

  • Saves money on buying testers

  • Portable and rechargeable
