🌀 DIY Mini Table Fan (Made with Cardboard and Simple Materials)

Beat the heat with creativity! This fun DIY Mini Table Fan project is easy to make, eco-friendly, and works using a small motor and battery. You can craft it using cardboard and a few basic electronic parts — perfect for kids, students, or DIY lovers.

🧰 Materials You’ll Need

  • Thick cardboard sheets

  • Small DC motor (3V–12V, depending on your power source)

  • Propeller blade (you can use a toy fan blade or make one from a plastic bottle)

  • Battery holder (AA or 9V)

  • Switch (optional but handy)

  • Wires

  • Glue gun or strong craft glue

  • Scissors or craft knife

  • Ruler & pencil

  • Paint or colored paper for decoration

🪚 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Make the Fan Body

  • Cut two circles or rectangles of cardboard (about 8–10 cm in diameter) to form the front and back of the fan housing.

  • Cut out a center hole for the motor shaft to fit through.

  • Create a box-shaped base (around 6×6 cm) for the stand.

2. Prepare the Motor and Blade

  • Attach the fan blade to the motor shaft securely.

  • You can make your own fan blades by cutting equal-sized fins from a plastic bottle and gluing them to a small circular hub.

  • Test it using your battery to ensure it spins smoothly.

3. Assemble the Fan Stand

  • Cut a rectangular strip of cardboard (about 10–12 cm long) for the fan neck.

  • Glue one end to the base and attach the fan housing at the top.

  • Reinforce joints using extra cardboard pieces inside.

4. Wire the Circuit

  • Connect one wire from the motor to the battery holder, and the other wire through the switch if you have one.

  • Insert batteries and test if the fan runs.

  • Once it works, glue all parts in place neatly.

5. Decoration & Final Touches

  • Paint your fan or wrap it in colored paper.

  • Add a small grill pattern in front using thin cardboard strips.

  • Write a cute label or name (like “Cool Breeze Mini Fan”).

⚙️ Optional: Add a Speed Control

If you want to make it even cooler, connect a small potentiometer (dimmer) in series with the motor to control fan speed — just like a real one!
